This year we decided not to take Valentine’s Day too seriously. We could have tried to get reservations at a nice restaurant and fought the crowds, but instead we decided to go to Chick-Fil-A. A few weeks earlier we received a flyer at the drive-in stating that Chick-Fil-A takes reservation for Valentine’s Dinner. Josh and I were immediately interested, we had a vision of being dressed to the nines while eating chicken nuggets under romantic fluorescent lighting.
It was actually really fun. When we arrived there was a red carpet leading to the front door, and just inside there was a hostess waiting to seat us at our table. There was a table cloth, menus, and fresh flowers on the table and a piano player in the corner helping to set the mood. They were really under staffed so the service was slow, but it was still fun to have a low key valentines day and some delish chicken sandwiches and waffle fries.
For Josh’s present I got him a bottle of Johnny Walker Blue. He’s been wanting to buy it for awhile, but it's pretty pricey, I had to explain to him that its a special occasion purchase, not an everyday item. So I decided to surprise him with a bottle, plus everyone knows liquor tastes better when someone else is buying. He was pretty excited, we’ve yet to crack it open, but we’re looking forward to trying it. Josh bought me a beautiful pair of sapphire and diamond earrings that match my Me’mere’s ring. I swear, he’s just the best. He’s so good to me, I’m a very lucky lady and a sparkly one too!
