Making Presents Pretty

I found this year's wrapping theme on one of my favorite sites StumbleUpon. I love the look of brown butcher paper with some sort of embellishment, so when I stumbled upon the blog ManMade I knew I'd found it. Here is the picture off of the site that sold me on the idea.

I did things a little differently from the article (I doubt many people own a lightbox), but the result was similar. I printed the letter template here, and blew it up on a photocopier. Once I had the letters at the size I wanted I cut them out and used those as stencils on an old book. Remember to be mindful of what book you use, you wouldn't want to give someone a gift with something like "heaving bosom" or "viciously murdered" on the lettering. I used spray glue to adhere them to the gifts. It was definitely a process, but I was very pleased with how it came out.
