Thanksgiving - Great Food & Great Company!

Josh and I hosted Thanksgiving at our house this year. I cooked a full meal last year but only Josh, Danny, and I got to enjoy it, and I only cooked a turkey breast. So that didn't really count. I consider this year my first full Thanksgiving because I cooked my first full bird and there were about 8 people to enjoy it!

As soon as it was decided that we would be hosting, I knew I had to prepare a killer Martha Stewart slash Amy Murphy Kitschy thanksgiving explosion of decoration.
Nailed it! And yes, that is a glitter squirrel. I began prep on the food Wednesday night, which included getting the bird ready, and if you know me at all you know this would be my greatest challenge. Here is a picture of me discovering the turkey's neck, thankfully there is no photographic evidence of my frustrating search for the bag of giblets! (Which is located in an entirely different hole FYI!)
After a few phone calls to Mom and Dad for advice, things settled down and the bird was ready to chill in the fridge overnight.

Thursday was filled with cooking, drinking wine, socializing and playing games. Look how domestic we look and look how purple my teeth were!

Can you spot the Murphy in this photo?
(Hint: face blocked by alcoholic beverage)

Playing games.

Me and Bret.

An easy and delicious appetizer, fig and blue cheese crostini.

The beautiful bird.

Check out that spread!
Great food and great company!

  1. You are a domestic goddess! I have never tried anything to do with a turkey and I am totally impressed! Nice shirt on Wednesday, btw :)
