"So hold your head up, girl and you you'll go far...."

I'd like to share a story with you. If you have a few minutes the below series of videos are pretty adorable and inspiring. Yes, it involves Lady Gaga, but give it a chance.... trust me. Try and not smile and get a little watery eyed while watching.

A young girl named Maria did a cover of Lady Gaga's new song "Born This Way". Not only does she sing and play the piano really well, its nice to hear a young girl sing such inspiring words:

"There's nothin' wrong with lovin' who you are"

She said, "'Cause He made you perfect, babe"

"So hold your head up, girl and you you'll go far,

Listen to me when I say"

I'm beautiful in my way,

'Cause God makes no mistakes

I'm on the right track, baby

I was born this way

The video went viral and at the time I posted this blog post the video had nearly 19 million views on youtube. Lady Gaga ended up seeing the video and tweeted it to her fans, saying what an inspiration Maria was. Maria hit the press circuit and Lady Gaga called into a radio station and surprised her on air.



Maria lives in Winnipeg and was invited to the concert in Toronto. Lady Gaga brought her on stage for a duet.



I really enjoyed following Maria's story in the press and I was so giddy to see her play on stage at Lady Gaga's concert. If you made it through the videos I hope they brought a smile to your face like the did for me.
