So heres how it went down, on Saturday morning we packed up the car and headed off to Leo Carillo State Park to meet up with Ashley and Kyle. We arrived and it started to rain almost immediately, which I wasn’t too happy about. We wanted to get the tent up asap, so we assembled it under the shelter and then ran it out to a good spot. It was a pretty daunting start, but once we got the fire started and set-up was coming along, my mood improved. It was definitely a shaky start though.
The night was really cold, and we didn't really expect it. But thank baby jesus the rain let up the next day, and the sun came out!!! Which meant cooking, drinking, games, reading in the sun, and hiking to the beach!!

It was a lot of fun and a great trial. I now know we NEED a doublewide sleeping bag, a tarp for under the tent, and a good pair of warm socks! I’m excited to go again, maybe when its a little warmer!
