Adventures in Portland

I recently travelled to Portland, Or for a Twilight convention. The city was great, it had a very similar vibe to Vancouver and Seattle, two cities I’ve also had the chane to visit through my job. I did not have a lot of free time, but we were staying right downtown, so I could walk around and explore a bit.

I ate at some really good restaurants. Leave it to me to find pub food within walking distance of any hotel I stay at! Matty and I went to a place called Paddy’s a few times. I always try to drink local beers in each city. I can’t remember the name, but the beer and food were great. They also had this really cool wall of liquor!

Many of the attendees kept mentioning a donut shop that “you just HAVE to go to” while you’re in town. Its called VooDoo donuts. Honestly, the first time I heard of it, someone was talking about an inappropriately/yet hilariously shaped donut. Matthew and I went to check it out Sunday night around 9pm and there was line….Sunday at 9pm! But we waited and I ordered a maple bacon bar, a donut with maple frosting and BACON on top! It was soooo yummy, but then I had donut guilt and went to the gym at the hotel the next morning.
