July 17th was Joshua’s birthday!!! He is currently working the night shift (boo), but we still managed to fit in a nice little celebration in honor of his 29 years. While Josh slept all day, I baked him chocolate cupcakes with homemade cream cheese frosting and then I dipped them in Oreos, so up his alley! When he woke up he opened presents and we got ready for dinner!
I had alternate birthday plans, which we still plan on doing once our days off and schedules are more in sync. He doesn’t know what the surprise is yet, but trust me, it will make for a great blog post later. I wanted him to have something to open on the actual day, so I bought him these glasses hes been eyeballing at Pier 1. They are beer glasses with a mini chalk board on them so you can write your name on the glass. As you can see Josh is a “Bad Ass” and I am "Hot Stuff".... obviously.
That night we went to an awesome restaurant that Danny introduced us to called Wurstkuche. Its a restaurant that specializes in German and Belgian sausages and Bier’s. You can tell its fancy cause they spell Beer “Bier”. I had an awesome Mango Jalapeno sausage and Josh had a duck & bacon jalapeno sausage. So yummy!
I’m going to be at the Las Vegas Star Trek Convention working from August 3-9, but when I get back from that hopefully Josh will move off the night shift so I can do his original birthday surprise. Until then....
